Watercolours and Lace Charity Auction

Watercolours and Lace Charity Auction

Like many people, I'm supporting someone affected by Alzheimer's and, having read a number of reports and publications, it is clear that much more research is required if a cure is to be found for this terrible disease.

I took part in the November Knitting Challenge, organised by Dementia UK. This has now come to a close, and I've knitted five cowls in various W&L yarns and colourways. Pictured clockwise from top left, they are:

1 - Spring Equinox cowl in 100% Mulberry Silk 4-ply in the English Lavender colourway
2 - Spring Equinox cowl in 80% Falklands Merino Wool, 20% Mulberry Silk 4-ply in the Roses in Clover colourway
3 - Giselle Cowl in 70% Baby Alpaca, 30% Silk 4-ply in the Hyacinths in Blue colourway
4 - Donna Cowl in 96% Geelong (Merino) Lambswool, 4% Silk Lace in the Blueberry Pie colourway
5 - Giselle Cowl in 65% Merino Wool, 20% Silk, 15% Yak 4-ply in the Mystic Forest colourway

These are now for sale by auction, with a closing date of 6pm GMT on Sunday 8 December, and the full bid price will be donated to the charity. My kits for these designs start at £15, so that is the reserve price/starting point for the auction for each one.

Any cowl without bids by the closing date will be offered for sale in my DesignsByJulieHarris Etsy store for £80-£100, with all proceeds being donated to the charity, so this could be your chance to get an original and unique cowl for a little less than my normal rates!

The cowls are posted individually on my Facebook and Instagram pages, so bidders can post bids online or send me private messages via those sources but, if you don't use social media, you are welcome to email a bid direct to me at julie@watercoloursandlace.co.uk. Don't forget to make clear which cowl you are bidding on. I will post updates on the current prices on FB and IG.

Each cowl will be packaged in a black gift box and shipping will be charged at £3.99 for 48 hour tracked, £4.99 for 24 hour tracked. Following the auction, the cowls will be listed on my website for purchase and I will contact each successful bidder with a link to a custom order page. If any purchase is not completed within 48 hours, the cowl will be offered to the next highest bidder.

Thank you in advance for helping to support this very worthwhile cause, in the hope of finding a cure for a terrible disease which affects so many loved ones, and supporting those who suffer because of it.
