Collection: Merino Wool Silk Yak Lace (800m/100g)

This is a deliciously soft, cuddly yarn. The yak fibre, combed from the undercoat of the animal, gives it warmth and a slight halo, and ranks between baby camel and cashmere for softness. The silk adds strength and a subtle lustre, and the merino adds structure to the yarn. It's gorgeous to knit with and produces beautiful shawls and cowls.

A blend of 60% Merino Wool, 20% Silk and 20% Yak in a standard laceweight (800m/100g).

The base yarn is a mid-brown colour, so won’t produce very pale or pastel shades. However, Julie specialises in dyeing non-white bases, and the resulting colours have a depth and glow to them that you just don’t get with an ecru yarn.
