Collection: HeartSpun BFL Wool/Tencel™ 4-ply (410m/100g)

We’ve known Helen Ingram from Woolly Chic for some time, having met her at numerous yarn events over the last few years. She developed an eco-friendly 4-ply yarn called Heartspun - a blend of 70% British Blue Faced Leicester Wool and 30% Tencel™ plant-based fibre, spun in Yorkshire.

This beautiful yarn was recognised by industry expects and won the British Knitting and Crochet Trade Sustainable/Eco Product of the year award for 2020. The judges described HeartSpun as “A soft and silky, high quality yarn with a beautiful sheen. It’s exciting to see a woollen based yarn strengthened with renewable fibres.”

The yarn knits as a 4-ply with a slightly longer than standard 420m/100g and feels very similar to a BFL/Silk 4-ply blend.

Please note:  Most of these skeins have come from the spinners at a little less than 100g - they are usually around 97-98g but we're selling them as 95g, so you're likely to get a little more than the weight/length stated.
