Abbey's Shawl Pattern
A beautiful triangular shawl, knitted from the top down in fine lace yarn in an allover diamond lace pattern, finished with a delicate edging which can be blocked into points, and with optional beading. The smaller size can be made with as little as 50g/700m of yarn. The skill level for this design is classified as Intermediate, for those with a reasonable level of experience in knitted lace.
The sample shawls were worked in the following yarns on a 3.00mm circular needle:
Small - 50g/750m Merino Fine Lace in Deep Purple Dahlia, plus 766 size 8 Japanese seed beads (optional). Finished size after blocking 140cm wide by 68cm deep.
Large - 100g/1,200m Alpaca Silk Cashmere Fine Lace in Summer Garden, plus 2,310 size 8 Japanese seed beads (optional). Finished size after blocking 230cm wide by 115cm deep.
