Megan Shawl Pattern
Designed for a single 100g/400m skein of 4-ply yarn, this small crescent shaped shawl is an ideal introduction to lace knitting, suitable for those with a little experience. Skills required are knit and purl, plus basic increases and decreases.
It features a simple 6-row pattern for the body, with a slightly more complex edging. It’s worked from the top neck down, and the size can easily be adjusted by repeating the body pattern - a larger shawl will require extra yarn.
The sample shawl was worked in 1 x 100g/400m skein of Baby Alpaca 4-ply in Nutmeg and Ginger, using a 4mm circular needle. Dimensions after blocking: 135cm wide around top edge by 44cm deep at longest point.
The pattern is presented both in chart form and as fully written instructions.
