Kelly Shawl Pattern

Kelly is an asymmetrical triangle worked in two different directions, with some picking up of stitches required. Two versions are offered, in both laceweight and 4-ply yarns.

The design incorporates cable elements as well as lace, is finished with a lace edging and there are options for beading. It is possible to increase the size of the shawl if required. I’d suggest a yarn with a bit of “body”, so possibly a wool or wool blend, and something not too variegated, would be best for the design so that the cables stand out well. 

The sample shawls were worked as follows:

Laceweight version, 1 x 100g/800m skein of Blue Faced Leicester Lace in Chocolate Caramel, using 3.25mm circular needles. Dimensions after blocking: 190cm wide by 60cm deep.

4-ply version, 2 x 100g/300m skeins of Teeswater/Wensleydale 4-ply in Brambles in the Mist, using 4mm circular needles. Dimensions after blocking: 190cm wide by 60cm deep.
