Nicole is a crescent shaped shawl and is worked from the top down. It features a variety of lace patterns, with a combination of solid areas and openwork sections, finishing with a decorative hem edging with optional beading.
Designed to be quite challenging and interesting to work, the pattern changes throughout the shawl. This design is therefore recommended for experienced crocheters.
The finished measurements after blocking are 130cm (51 inches) wide by 60cm (24 inches) deep, and the original was worked on a 3.5mm crochet hook.
The kit includes the printed pattern and a 100g (800m) skein of our hand-painted 80% Baby Alpaca, 20% Silk Lace yarn, sufficient to make the shawl as written.
Beads are not included in the kit. We recommend size 6 Japanese beads - the shawl edging takes approximately 420 beads.
The pattern is presented as fully written instructions with no charts, and also includes instructions for a fine lace version of the shawl.
