Nicole Crochet Shawl Pattern
Nicole Crochet Shawl Pattern
Nicole is a crescent shaped shawl and is worked from the top down. It features a variety of lace patterns, with a combination of solid areas and openwork sections, finishing with a decorative hem edging with optional beading. There are two versions, for standard and fine laceweight yarns, with slightly different edgings.
Designed to be quite challenging and interesting to work, the pattern changes throughout the shawl. This design is therefore recommended for experienced crocheters.
Finished size is 60-63 cm (24-25 inches) centre back depth, 130-134 cm (51-53 inches) wingspan tip to tip.
The standard laceweight version was worked in Silky Merino Lace, 1 x 100g/800m skein in Precious Metals and 420 size 6 beads.
The fine lace version was worked in Alpaca Silk Cashmere Fine Lace, 1 x 100g/1,200m skein in Orchid Deep and 945 size 8 beads within 3-bead picots. You can omit the beads altogether, or use single bead picots if preferred.
The pattern is written in full without charts.
