Quentin Gansey Vest Pattern

A unisex round-necked vest with front buttoning, worked seamlessly and from the bottom up.

• The stitch design, which is charted, features a variety of traditional gansey/guernsey stitch patterns in various knit and purl combinations, including anchors, trees and starfish
• The vest is finished with ribbed bands at hem, armholes, neck and fronts
• Worked in a hand dyed British 5-ply pure wool Guernsey yarn, it makes an ideal extra layer over shirts and sweaters
• The design is suitable for intermediate knitters

Finished Chest/Bust Sizes - designed to be worn with approximately 5 to 7.5 cm (2 to 3 inches) of positive ease:

Yarn required: 5 (5: 6: 7) x 100g (280m) skeins 5-ply Guernsey wool. The originals were knitted in Lavender Blue (size 2) and Mystic Forest (size 4), both shown on a 40 inch chest.

Knitted using 2.75mm and 3.25mm circular needles at a tension of 27 sts and 38 rows to 10cm on 3.25mm needles over knit and purl body patterns, after blocking
