Rough Silk Lace (1,000m/100g)

This is a pure silk yarn but - unlike our shiny Mulberry Silk - it has a textured, matt, slubbed effect. It's not spun in a single thread from the cocoon, as is the case with Mulberry silk, but uses the shorter fibres. It has much less sheen, but softens with washing and wear, and is ideal for summer tops, shawls and scarves.

The yarn is a single ply, giving 1,000m per 100g. The base yarn is a darker colour than our Mulberry Silk, so gives some interesting colour effects.
