Catriona Fair Isle Hat Pattern
Catriona Fair Isle Hat Pattern
This simply-shaped hat, knitted from the bottom up in traditional Fair Isle designs, is an ideal introduction to two-colour knitting and working in the round. The Fair Isle design is worked from a chart and colours can be changed as required, to suit the knitter or the yarn available. It’s a great way of using up oddments of yarn - particularly variegated ones which can give the effect of a much more complicated design than is actually the case!
Using stranded knitting, working in the round, and suitable for those with some experience, the skill level for this design is classed as Intermediate.
The samples shown were worked in two colours, using 2.75mm and 3.25mm circular and double-pointed needles.
