Celtic Wynter Sweater Pattern

A round-necked sweater with Celtic-inspired Fair Isle patterning on the lower body, worked from the bottom up in the round without seams, with options for both sleeveless and long-sleeved versions. This design is suitable for an intermediate knitter.

• Worked in three or four colours of 4-ply yarn, the Fair Isle design is worked from a chart
• Small quantities of yarn are required for the contrast colours, so mini-skeins are perfect for this
• A suitable project for those fairly new to Fair Isle, as all the shaping is done in the plain sections
• The body is worked in the round to the armholes, then back and front are worked in rows to the shoulders
• Stitches are picked up for the neckband, and for either armbands or modified drop shoulder sleeves, which are worked in the round

Knitted using 2.75mm and 3.25mm circular and double pointed needles (or circulars only if you work magic loop for the sleeves) at a tension of 28 sts and 36 rows to 10 cm (4 inches) over stocking stitch.
