Veronica is an easy to wear round-necked, yoked cardigan with three-quarter sleeves and lace patterning, worked from the bottom up, and suitable for intermediate knitters. The lace is not complex but does require concentration and there is enough variation to keep more experienced knitters interested.
- The body is worked in a single piece to the armholes without shaping, using circular needles
- The sleeves are both worked in the round before being joined at the yoke stage
- The ribbed neckband is worked as a continuation of the yoke, and the front button and buttonhole bands are picked up and knitted
- A few short rows are used to shape the neckline
- The underarm seam is grafted (but these stitches may be cast off and seamed if preferred)
- The lace pattern is both charted and written in full
- Sleeve and body lengths may be adjusted if required
